Andrei Caracut is embodying what it means to start the year right.
Andrei Caracut probably has a New Year's Resolution he'd like to fulfill. Either that or he decided 2024 was his year to well, shine.
The 5-foot-11 guard for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters was hailed the PBA Press Corps-Pilipinas Live Player of the Week for the period of January 5 to 7, after helping clinch the quarterfinals berth in the PBA Commissioner's Cup.
The former UAAP Rookie of the Year for the DLSU Green Archers, playing in his third year with Rain or Shine, dished 23 points, two rebounds, and four assists in the 119-112 victory over the TNT Tropang Giga.
Eight of those points were made in the fourth quarter. Caracut was also part of the 11-0 run in the final stretch.
His efforts helped Rain or Shine pick up its fifth straight win, improving to 5-5, and securing a spot in the quarterfinals.
The Elasto Painters will end the preliminaries this Sunday against the Converge FiberXers at 3:00 p.m. at the Philsports Arena.
