He is Iron Man, remember that!
After his months-long battler with stage three colon cancer, LA Tenorio made a triumphant return to action in the PBA when the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel outclassed the Terrafirma Dyip 110-99, last December 3 at the PhilSports Arena.
The Gineral posted six points, a rebound, and three assists in 26 minutes, filling in quite well for an injured Scottie Thompson.
Seeing Tenorio still capable of handling point guard duties and nailing a couple of long-range bombs is a welcome sight. But the fact that he can play basketball at a high level once again is already a monumental accomplishment on its own.
On Friday, the FIBA Asia Champions Cup recognized Tenorio’s roaring return and included him in its Lineup of the Week for December 1 to 7. The elite list was comprised of other Asian hoop stars who made a splash in their respective professional leagues.
Also included in the special selection was Chinese big man Zhou Qi. The former NBA player now plays for the Guangdong Southern Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association. Over his first three games, he helped Guangdong tally three wins, notching 19.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, and two blocks per contest.
Another Asian hoop hero who got the nod was Japanese floor general Yuki Kawamura of the Yokohama B.Corsairs. Last December 6, the sweet-shooter torched the AJ Edu and the Toyama Grouses for 42 points.
In his second game back, meanwhile, Tenorio tallied five points, two rebounds, and an assist as Ginebra lost to the Phoenix Fuel Masters, 82-77 on Saturday.

Without a doubt, Tinyente and the rest of Ginebra will look to bounce back this Friday against the San Miguel Beermen.
