RHJ is a man of the people.
Halfcourt shooting contests have been a staple in Gilas Pilipinas practices when coach Chot Reyes was at the helm. Players and staff gather around the center court and alternately take shots for prize money.
Reyes' PBA team, the TNT Tropang Giga, also had the same session after practice in Taiwan on Tuesday for their upcoming game in the East Asia Super League (EASL).
But this time, it wasn't only Reyes who was putting money on the line, pun intended.
Import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson dared big man Lervin Flores to make one from halfcourt in two attempts, and he will be P50,000 richer.
Unfortunately, Flores muffed both shots.
Still, the prolific import, who became a meme due to a funny photo in TNT's win over the Converge FiberXers last Saturday, rewarded his teammate for taking on the challenge.
“Hey, since I’m a good man, I’ll give you P5,000,” RHJ told Flores before giving the high-flying forward a dap.
TNT is gearing up for its third game in the EASL, facing against the Taipei Fubon Braves this Wednesday.
Hollis-Jefferson and Quincy Miller will reinforce the Tropang Giga, who are 0-2 in Group A.

Their latest loss was a 75-66 decision against Japan B.League’s Chiba Jets at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna last November 1.
