They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, in the case of San Miguel Beermen star Mo Tautuaa and his admiration for the San Antonio Spurs’ 7-foot-4 phenom Victor Wembanyama, the old saying is quite applicable (or not). After watching an NBA game featuring the Spurs and, of course, their prized rookie, the Filipino-Tongan center found something that he’d really like to incorporate to his arsenal.

What is it, exactly?

Is it Wemby’s unfair shot-blocking ability? Nope!

Is it Wemby’s guard-like skills despite his towering height? Nope!

Is it Wemby’s ability to dunk from three-point line using just a gather-step? Nope!

Is it Wemby’s out-of-this-world physical attributes? Most definitely not!

Is it Wemby’s fashion sense? Nope, not that one either.

Well, the correct answer is Wemby’s unique way of high-fiving a teammate. Tautuaa captured the moment via screenshot, wherein the 19-year-old’s gigantic palm smacked another player in silver and black right in the face. Of course, Wemby must’ve been going for a traditional high-five and must’ve accidentally hit his teammate’s mug due to their heaven-and-earth height disparity.

“Only way I’m high-fiving from now on,” Mo wrote over an Instagram Story he posted on Sunday.

Word of advice for Mo’s not-so-tall teammates such as Simon Enciso, Terrence Romeo, Jericho Cruz, and Jeron Teng: Stay away from Tautuaa the next time he gets a dunk or a smooth jumper to go.

Word of advice to Mo: think twice before going through with it. His not so-tall-teammates will likely not take a high-five facial sitting down.

For what it’s worth, Mo may have given the fans another reason to follow what should be an exciting 48th season of the PBA.

So, will we see Mo accidentally smack one of his teammates for the sake of a high-five? The only way to find out is to catch the games live.
