The Magnolia Hotshots look to make noise in the next PBA season after acquiring the rights to forwards Abu Tratter and David Murrell from Converge FiberXers, in exchange for guard Adrian Wong and a first round pick in the 2023 PBA Draft.

Tratter, standing at 6-foot-5, will provide an additional inside presence for the Hotshots, who sorely missed the presence of star forward Ian Sangalang in the ongoing PBA Governors’ Cup. Magnolia bowed out of the conference in the semifinals after losing to the Meralco Bolts.

They’re also adding some size and athleticism in the 6-foot-4 Murrell, who’s also the defending PBA Slam Dunk Contest champion.

The FiberXers, who also got eliminated in the quarterfinals of the season-ending conference, are getting a promising young player in Wong, who took home the Rookie-Sophomores-Juniors Game MVP in the last PBA All-Star Weekend, alongside a first round pick in the upcoming draft that may allow them to net a young prospect.
