Where will the All-Star guard end up?
With just a few weeks away before the tip-off of the new NBA season, two important questions remain on everyone's mind: 1. How often does James Harden wash his beard? 2. Where will Damian Lillard end up?
To recall, Lillard has demanded a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers. After 11 years with the squad, it seems the dynamic guard is hell-bent on finally winning his first title. Even if that means moving out from Rip City, which has loved him since he entered the NBA.
It's no secret that Dame Time's only preferred destination is the Miami Heat. The NBA even warned the All-Star guard that he would be reprimanded if he comments further on it.
While it's still unclear where he'll land, Lillard posted a quote on his Instagram Story on Tuesday. It said, "Whole time they looking at you like competition, while you looking at them as a friend."
It sounds just like a random reminder. It doesn't have anything to do with his trade demand. But at this point, what do we know? Lillard has a history of posting cryptic quotes, so we won't be surprised if this latest one turns out as a subtle jab (he likes boxing too) against someone.
On Monday, he also posted a photo with a caption with a similar theme: "True friends are like stars. You can’t recognize them until it’s dark around you."
While Lillard is still in his prime at 33 years old, time isn't exactly on his side. The window to claim his first chip is closing fast, and he feels joining the Heat would be the optimal move. If he does end up teaming up with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, the South Beach boys will be a huge problem.
Various reports, however, say that many teams are lukewarm to acquiring Lillard because of the Trail Blazers' huge asking price. Even the Heat are allegedly apprehensive because they don't want to ship Caleb Martin, who had a breakout campaign last season.
But really, who often does Harden was his beard? The world needs to know!
