A new hoops heaven has been opened.
Filipino basketball fans have a new reason to celebrate as the NBA and Titanomachy International, Inc. (Titan) announced on Wednesday that the largest NBA Store in the Philippines is set to open on May 4 at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. Looking at the exquisite layout of the 500-plus square-meter space, and the wide array of official NBA merchandise filling it, the place is practically heaven for the country’s NBA lifers who’ll be coming to visit.
If you’re a collector, or a shopaholic, or one na madaling mabudol
Its exact location is on the second floor of the South Wing Entertainment Mall facing Seaside Boulevard. Inside the massive shop, you’ll find vast range of NBA apparel and memorabilia. From the classic to the current uniforms and all the way to nicest swingman jerseys, the new NBA Store has it all. Also included in its retail are exclusive headwear, footwear, basketballs, and accessories from premium brands such as Nike, Mitchell & Ness, New Era, and Wilson.
If you just want to hang out (while waiting for someone like the girlfriend who shops for 3 hours)
The NBA Store in MOA is not your typical specialty boutique. It boasts several interactive features like an NBA 2K gaming section, footprints of past and present NBA stars, and a halfcourt—with a hardwood floor and a 2.5-meter LED screen nearby—which also serves as a cozy viewing area. Nice-looking couches are in place for your comfort.
Aesthetics
The place is lit. Aside from the halfcourt at the center, a locally designed mural depicting basketball’s influence in the country keeps the store vibrant. And for a limited time throughout May, a model of the Larry O’ Brien Trophy will be on display. You can also have your picture taken on a replica of the backdrop and the podium where NBA commissioner Adam Silver makes important announcements.
