Olympic skateboarder Margielyn Didal just got an extra reason to smile after getting engaged to longtime girlfriend Jozel Manzanares.
Didal shared on social media how she popped the question on their eighth anniversary.
"Happy 8th anniversary and cheers to our new beginning," Didal posted.
And who says the skateboarder isn't a romantic? The Asian Games gold medalist arranged for an elaborate dining set-up with a restaurant in her hometown of Cebu City. She walked with Manzanares to a table with a white-and-red theme, scattered with rose petals. They were served with wine and some smooth jazz.
Among the athletes who congratulated Didal is fellow Olympian Hidilyn Diaz.
"Congratulations Champ," Diaz posted on the IG post.
Didal was one of the many athletes who attended Diaz' wedding. The weightlifter may likely return the favor.
The gold-medal winning skateboarder, who helped spark interest in the sport especially in her hometown, is recovering from an operation and continues her rehabilitation after she fractured her left ankle last October.
Even when she's off the ramp, Didal just keeps on winning.
