An entire nation is behind Kai Sotto.
Kai Sotto may be leaving Australia's NBL but he will do so as a back-to-back NBL Fans MVP. The former Adelaide 36ers big man became the third two-time awardee and is the only Asian to win the plum, which was determined by an online poll.
During the NBL's awarding ceremony, the league recognized Sotto's allure and his huge following from all over the world.
"Sotto's global fanbase has drawn millions of fans to the NBL as the Adelaide big man earned his way into C.J. Bruton's starting five this year," the NBL said in an audio-video presentation. "The highlights of the Filipino sensation once again attracted massive viewership online."
Sotto's teammates and peers in the NBL also gave him his well-deserved flowers online, a proof that the Filipino center has earned their respects in Australia.

During his acceptance speech, Sotto thanked his supporters and the league.
"I'm very grateful and it's an honor to be here."
Although, the 7-foot-3 Filipino, who is set to play for the Hiroshima Dragonflies in the Japan B.League, has one final wish in his exit.
"Just to spend these two years with the Adelaide 36ers is a dream come true, and I just hope more Filipinos can come to this league."
