Alex Eala drops seven spots in latest WTA world rankings

Alex Eala dropped a few spots in the latest WTA world rankings released on Monday, Feb. 16.

The Filipina tennis ace is now world no. 47, down seven spots from her career-high no. 40 ranking last week.

Currently, Eala is competing in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and will take on world no. 8 Jasmine Paolini next.

Eala advanced to the Round of 32 after American Hailey Baptiste was forced to retire in the second set of their first-round showdown.

At the time of the stoppage, Eala was down 0-1 in the set but was leading the match after winning the first set, 6-4.
