Spurs star Victor Wembanyama dropped 40 on the depleted Lakers, Kevin Durant hit 1,000 career 20-point games, the Pacers won an overtime thriller in New York, and the Suns added to the Mavs’ woes on a busy NBA Wednesday.

  • San Antonio Spurs (37-16) def. LA Lakers (19-34), 136-108: Victor Wembanyama went berserk, scoring 40 points in just 26 minutes as the Spurs rolled past the Lakers for a fifth consecutive win.

  • Houston Rockets (33-19) def. LA Clippers (25-28), 102-95: Kevin Durant scored 26 points for his 1,000th career 20-point game, leading the Houston Rockets to back-to-back wins after downing the Clippers.

With this milestone, Durant joins LeBron James, Karl Malone, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only players in NBA history to accomplish the feat.

  • Indiana Pacers (14-40) def. New York Knicks (34-20), 137-134: In a game that featured 39 lead changes and 16 ties, Pascal Siakam and the Pacers outlasted the Knicks in overtime to end a four-game slide.
