It's a quick choice for Roman Reigns after his Royal Rumble win, with the Tribal Chief choosing to challenge World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk at WrestleMania 42.
The Tribal Chief did not waste time.
On the first Monday Night Raw after the 2026 Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns picked World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk as his opponent for WrestleMania 42.
Reigns made the announcement during the show’s main event, setting up a mega showdown between two superstars with so much history behind them.
Reigns and Punk figured in a triple threat match in the main of event of WrestleMania 41 Night 1 last year, both losing to Seth Rollins following the betrayal of Paul Heyman.
For Reigns, who won his second Royal Rumble, it puts him back in the WrestleMania title scene but it’s his first as a true challenger since WrestleMania 34.
Meanwhile, CM Punk will enter a WrestleMania as champion for the first time since WrestleMania 28.
