Jaren Jackson Jr. led seven Memphis players in double figures as the Grizzlies spoiled Anthony Edwards’ 39-point effort and stopped the Minnesota Timberwolves at home.
While one team’s streak came to an end, another finally broke free from a string of defeats.
After six straight losses, the Grizzlies finally found their footing as Jaren Jackson Jr. led the charge with 30 points in a 137-128 win over Minnesota that ended the Timberwolves’ four-game winning streak in the process on Tuesday, February 3 (PH time).
Ty Jerome added 19 points, Jaylen Wells contributed 18, and the Grizzlies’ bench — GG Jackson, Vince Williams Jr., and Cam Spencer — combined for 45 of Memphis’ 52 points off the pine.
Despite missing star Ja Morant (elbow), Memphis connected on 19 three-pointers and built a 124-109 cushion after a Spencer jumper.
Minnesota rallied 12-4 to narrow the gap to 121-130 with 2:16 remaining, but Jerome and Cedric Coward delivered back-to-back baskets to seal the win.
For Minnesota, Anthony Edwards scored a game-high 39 points, Jaden McDaniels added 29, and Donte DiVincenzo chipped in 21.
Despite a 42-point surge in the fourth quarter, the Timberwolves couldn’t overcome an early 20-point deficit and fell to 31-20.
Memphis will now embark on a five-game road trip starting in Sacramento against the Kings (12-39), while Minnesota travels to Toronto to take on the Raptors (30-21).
