Carlos Alcaraz is the first man to beat Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open Finals, and the 22-year-old Spanish star is now the youngest to complete a career Grand Slam.
Carlos Alcaraz may be a GOAT trajectory.
Alcaraz stopped living legend Novak Djokovic on Sunday (PH time), winning the 2026 Australian Open at the Rod Laver Arena, 2-6 6-2 6-3 7-5.
It’s Alcaraz’s seventh Grand Slam win and first Australian Open title.

But more importantly, the AO victory allowed the Spanish ace to complete a career Grand Slam, and at still 22-years-old became the youngest ever to achieve the feat.
It wasn’t easy though, as the world no. 1 needed to overcome Djokovic’s fast start as the Serbian icon looked to win a record-extending 25th major.
After taking over with mid-match surge, Alcaraz had to hold off Novak’s service game to win the match in an extended fourth set.
The victory pushed Alcaraz’s record to 3-0 against Djokovic in major Finals.
It was also the first time Novak lost in the Australian Open Finals, entering the showdown 10-0 in such occasions.
