Filipina rescue worker Isabella Revilla-Farrelly and her husband, four-time WWE world champion Sheamus, share a meaningful mission outside the squared circle.
Just because one is around a physical business like pro wrestling doesn’t mean being all macho all the time.
Such is the case for Fil-Am Isabella Revilla her husband Stephen Farrelly, who shared their work in helping dogs find loving homes in an exclusive interview with One Sports.
Farrelly, of course, is more commonly known as Sheamus. Yes, the four-time WWE world champion Celtic Warrior.
When Isabella moved to Nashville in 2018 to be with her WWE superstar husband, she faced a challenge many would relate to: loneliness.
"When I moved to Nashville in 2018 to be with my husband, I didn’t have family or friends there, and he was traveling constantly,” she said.
“It was a very lonely time for me, especially considering how close I am to my family.”
Away from family and friends, and with Sheamus constantly traveling to entertain the WWE Universe, Isabella found connection through rescue.
This led her to the Nashville Humane Association, and a single plea is what it took for her to sign up — without asking for anyone’s permission.
"Nashville Humane Association put out a plea for foster homes because the shelter was at capacity, and while my husband was on the road, I decided to sign up — without asking him [Sheamus] first,” she recalled.
For Isabella, it wasn’t just about filling a void.
She realized her calling lay in helping pets that often get overlooked, and what started as a 10-day plan quickly turned into a life-changing commitment.
"I said it would only be 10 days. We ended up adopting that dog… and then another… and then another… and then another,” Isabella said.
“Eventually, we had four dogs. When I realized we couldn’t adopt any more, I still wanted to help, so I got a job at the Humane Association.”
When adoption alone wasn’t enough, Isabella decided to get in on the action herself.
First in Nashville, then in New York City, working as an adoption specialist and later becoming an animal care worker and kennel technician.
Eventually, Isabella also studied dog behavior.
"That hands-on work with the dogs became incredibly meaningful to me. Now I’m studying dog behavior with a focus on shelter dogs,” she said.
Her passion for helping overlooked pets is shared by Sheamus.
“He [Sheamus] grew up with dogs, and we have a soft spot for the ones who are often overlooked — blind, deaf, three-legged dogs, bully breeds. Helping them find homes is really important and special to us.”
For Isabella, the work isn’t just about saving animals — it’s about making meaningful connections and giving every dog a chance to live and thrive.
And while many might know her as Sheamus’ wife, Isabella is quick to define herself on her own terms.
"Being married to someone in the public eye, it can be very easy to lose yourself in their success, their popularity, or the industry they’re part of,” she said.
“I’ve had to be very intentional about holding onto who I am outside of that. Just as humans, we contain multitudes."
Just as Isabella fights for the forgotten and overlooked, she also never forgot her identity rooted in Filipino heritage, the arts, and love for animal advocacy.
"I know I’m more than a wrestler’s wife — even one as decorated and respected as my husband,” she said.
“I’m someone with my own passions, values, and roots: my love for animal rescue, my pride in being Filipino, loving the arts, being from New Jersey.”
