Despite missing superstar Devin Booker for a third straight game with a sprained ankle, Dillon Brooks picked up the slack and led a rousing Phoenix Suns performance over the Detroit Pistons.
Dillon Brooks delivered a career-night, pouring in 40 points to power the Phoenix Suns to a commanding 114-96 victory over the East-leading Detroit Pistons on Friday, January 30 (PH time).
Brooks set the tone early, racking up 38 points through the first three quarters as the Suns built a 93-81 cushion heading into the final frame.
His previous career-high of 37 points came back in 2021 with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Brooks also chipped in eight rebounds, four assists, and four steals as Phoenix notched their fifth win in seven games.
Grayson Allen added 24 points, helping the Suns reach 29-19, marking the first time this season they’ve climbed ten games above .500.
Cade Cunningham poured a team-high with 26 points, while Jalen Duran contributed 23 points and 13 rebounds for Detroit.
Despite their strong recent form, the Pistons suffered just their third loss in 12 games, slipping to 34-12.
Phoenix now eyes a third consecutive win in a showdown with the Cleveland Cavaliers (29-12), while Detroit seeks a quick rebound at home against the struggling Brooklyn Nets (12-34).
