Luka Doncic continued his scoring mastery, posting league-leading eight 40-point games this season as the LA Lakers cooled off the Bulls in Chicago.
When Luka Doncic is on a roll, the LA Lakers are simply hard to stop.
Doncic turned in 46 points in a masterful offensive display, spearheading the LA Lakers to a 129-118 win over the Bulls and snapping Chicago’s four-game winning streak on Tuesday, January 27 (PH time).
The Slovenian superstar took over in the third quarter, scoring 20 of the Lakers’ 35 points, and finished with 11 assists, eight three-pointers, and seven rebounds in 38 minutes.
Named Western Conference Player of the Week, Doncic also set a franchise record by becoming the fastest Laker to reach 2,000 points, achieving the milestone in just 65 games.
LeBron James contributed 24 points, while Rui Hachimura added a strong 23-point effort off the bench, helping the Lakers improve to 28-17.
On the other side, Coby White led Chicago with 23 points, Ayo Dosunmu added 20, and Nikola Vucevic chipped in 18, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Lakers.
With the loss, the Bulls fell to an even 23-23 record.
The Lakers gear up to face the red-hot Cleveland Cavaliers (28-20), while the Bulls look to rebound on the road against the struggling Indiana Pacers (11-36).
