Ralf Souquet earned sweet revenge over Efren "Bata" Reyes with an 11–9 win, capitalizing on a late-time foul to clinch third place at the WNT Legends.
Ralf Souquet got his measure of revenge on Efren “Bata” Reyes, outlasting the Filipino legend in a tense 11–9 battle to claim third place in the WNT Legends event at the Gateway Mall in Quezon City on Friday, January 23.
After falling to Reyes on Day 1, “The Kaiser” came out sharper in the rematch, taking control of the early exchanges and repeatedly nudging ahead in the match.
Reyes, as he has done countless times before, refused to fade, steadily clawing back and answering every surge by Souquet to keep the scoreline tight.
The duel reached its most dramatic point late, with the two icons locked at 9–9 after a series of traded racks that had the crowd on edge.
With Souquet holding a slim 10–9 lead, the match swung decisively when Reyes was whistled for a time foul, handing the cue to his opponent.
From there, the German cueist wasted no time capitalizing, calmly clearing the final rack to close out the match and secure third place.
