Coast-to-coast: East-leading Pistons continue surge; SGA pours 40 vs Bucks

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered an MVP-worthy performance on the road as East-leading Detroit Pistons continued to build momentum in a seven-game NBA Thursday slate.

SGA DROPS 40; PISTONS STAY SHARP

  • Detroit Pistons (32-10) def. New Orleans Pelicans (10-36), 120-66: Jalen Duren recorded 20 points and 15 rebounds for his fifth 20-15 game of the season, anchoring the East-leading Pistons to their fourth-straight win.

  • OKC Thunder (37-8) def. Milwaukee Bucks (18-25), 122-102: Reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander exploded for 40 points and 11 assists, marking his second career 40-10 game and pacing the Thunder to another dominant road victory.

  • Boston Celtics (27-16) def. Indiana Pacers (10-35), 119-104: Jaylen Brown scored 30 points—his 25th 30-point outing this season—to spearhead the Celtics’ strong bounce-back win  against the lowly Pacers.
  • New York Knicks (26-18) def. Brooklyn Nets (12-30), 120-66: The Knicks set a new franchise record for their largest margin of victory in a regular-season game, crushing state rival Nets by 56 points.

  • Atlanta Hawks (21-25) def. Memphis Grizzlies (18-24), 124-122: Jalen Johnson’s near triple-double performance of 32 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists helped the Hawks end a four-game losing streak, leaving the Grizzlies on the wrong side of a thriller.

  • Cleveland Cavaliers (25-20) def. Charlotte Hornets (16-28), 94-87: Donovan Mitchell scored 24 points, while Evan Mobley contributed a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds, as the Cavaliers surged to a 21-point first-quarter lead and held off a late rally from the Hornets.

  • Toronto Raptors (27-19) def. Sacramento Kings (12-32), 122-109: Brandon Ingram, Sandro Mamukelashvili, and Scottie Barnes combined for 68 points, propelling the Raptors to back-to-back wins after holding off the Kings.
