Amid swirling off-court drama, Jimmy Butler and the Golden State Warriors made sure the noise didn’t reach the hardwood.

Butler delivered a commanding 32-point performance as the Warriors took care of business against the Jalen Brunson-less New York Knicks, 126-113,  securing back-to-back victories on Friday, January 16 (PH time).

Stephen Curry added 27 points, while Moses Moody chipped in 21 for Golden State, which entered the contest under a cloud of controversy.

Earlier in the day, league insiders Shams Charania and Anthony Slater reported that disgruntled forward Jonathan Kuminga had requested a trade away from the Warriors.

Kuminga was absent from the bench against New York, marking his 14th straight game missed.

Despite the distraction, Golden State stayed locked in, improving to 5–1 in its ongoing eight-game homestand and boosting its record to 23–19.

For New York, OG Anunoby and Miles McBride led the way with 25 points apiece, while Karl-Anthony Towns posted a 17-point, 20-rebound double-double.

Jalen Brunson remained sidelined after suffering an ankle injury in the Knicks’ 112–101 loss to Sacramento earlier in the week.

Golden State will next host the Charlotte Hornets (14–26), while New York returns home to face the Phoenix Suns (24–17)
