Klay Thompson moves past Damian Lillard on the all-time three-pointers list, firing up a short-handed Dallas Mavericks in demolishing the Utah Jazz.
Without Anthony Davis and Cooper Flagg, Klay Thompson stole the show on his way splashing through history.
Thompson erupted for a season-high 26 points, moving into fourth place on the NBA’s all-time three-pointers list in a 144-122 Dallas Mavericks rout of the Utah Jazz on Friday, January 16 (PH time).
The 35-year-old sharpshooter drained a three-pointer at 1:18 of the first quarter, overtaking Damian Lillard to enter the top four in the list.
Thompson finished the night with six triples, bringing his total to 2,809 and needing just 165 more to surpass Ray Allen (2,973) for third place.
Naji Marshall added 22 points, while four other Mavericks reached double-digit scoring in a balanced team effort. Dallas led by as many as 30 points and drilled 14 triples on their way to improving to 16–26.
For Utah, Brice Sensabaugh followed up his career-high 43 points against the Bulls with 22 points, but the Jazz, who were without star Lauri Markkanen (illness), fell to 14–27.
Both teams are set to face off again on Sunday, January 18 (PH time).
