When the Los Angeles Lakers needed answers, they found them in familiar faces.

Mired in a three-game slump, Luka Doncic and LeBron James put on a show to pull LA back on track, spearheading a dominant 141-116 dismantling of the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, January 14 (PH time).

James was in complete command, narrowly missing a triple-double with 31 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds in just 34 minutes.

Doncic, meanwhile, ignited early and poured in 23 of his 27 points in the first half while tallying 12 assists, five rebounds, and five triples.

DeAndre Ayton provided a strong interior presence with a 17-point, 18-rebound double-double as the Lakers improved to 24-14 and leapfrogged the Houston Rockets (23-14) for fifth place in the Western Conference.

The Hawks got a team-high 26 points from Nickeil Alexander-Walker’s including five triples, while CJ McCollum added 25 off the bench.

But Atlanta’s resistance only delayed the inevitable, as its three-game winning streak came to an end—their first loss since dealing Trae Young to the Washington Wizards weeks earlier.

Up next, the Lakers welcome the Charlotte Hornets (14-26), while the Hawks close out their road trip in Portland against the Trail Blazers (19-21).
