The Philadelphia 76ers scored a big win against a conference rival, taking down the New York Knicks, 130-119, on Sunday (PH time) at the Madison Square Garden.
With a third straight win, Philly sustained its charge in the East standings, improving to 19-14 for 5th place.
Tyrese Maxey was the star of the show for the 76ers, going for 36 points and eight rebounds. He also had four assists, two steals, and two blocks.
Former MVP Joel Embiid and VJ Edgecombe added 26 points each, as Philly controlled the pace from the second quarter and led by as many as 19.
Meanwhile, the Knicks have lost three straight for a 23-12 record. New York is still second in the East, but lost ground to the no. 1 Pistons.
Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 31 points in the loss.
