Coast-to-Coast: Keyonte George rescues Jazz; Jaylen Brown 30-point streak goes to eight

On an action-packed nine-game NBA Saturday, Keyonte George’s late heroics propelled the Jazz to victory, Jaylen Brown kept his scoring streak alive for the Celtics, and Ja Morant returned with a bang for the Grizzlies.


KEYONTE GEORGE DELIVERS IN CLUTCH;  JAYLEN BROWN CONTINUES SCORING SPREE 

  • Utah Jazz (11-19) def. Detroit Pistons (24-7), 131-129: Keyonte George sank the game-winning floater with 2.1 seconds left, lifting the Jazz to a thrilling victory over the East-leading Pistons.

Detroit had a chance to respond, but superstar Cade Cunningham’s last-ditch three-point attempt missed, sealing a heart-stopping escape for Utah.

  • Boston Celtics (19-11) def. Indiana Pacers (6-25), 140-122: Jaylen Brown’s remarkable 30-point streak now spans eight straight games as the Celtics overwhelm the Pacers for their fourth consecutive win.

  • Memphis Grizzlies (15-16) def. Milwaukee Bucks (12-19), 125-104: Ja Morant returned from a four-game absence due to an ankle injury in spectacular fashion, recording a 17-point, 10-assist double-double in a convincing win over the Bucks.

Jaren Jackson Jr. led the team with 24 points, adding nine rebounds and five blocks, as Memphis defeated Milwaukee for the eighth consecutive time—all by double digits.

  • Chicago Bulls (15-15) def. Philadelphia 76ers (16-13), 109-102: The Bulls closed out the game on a 10-0 run to deny the Sixers, extending their winning streak to five games and kicking off a six-game homestand on a high note.

  • Miami Heat (16-15) def. Atlanta Hawks (15-17), 126-111: With 25 points from Norman Powell and a career-best 21 from Pelle Larsson, the Heat overpowered the Hawks on the road to hand Atlanta its fifth consecutive defeat.

  • Charlotte Hornets (11-20) def. Orlando Magic (17-14), 120-105: LaMelo Ball posted 22 points, seven rebounds, and five assists to lift the Hornets to back-to-back wins at the expense of the Magic. 

  • Washington Wizards (6-23) def. Toronto Raptors (18-14), 138-117: Keyshawn George’s 23 points paced the lowly Wizards to their highest-scoring game of the season, ending a four-game losing streak with a dominant home win over the struggling Raptors.

  • Phoenix Suns (17-13) def. New Orleans Pelicans (8-24), 115-108: Devin Booker erupted for 12 of his 30 points in the final quarter, leading the Suns past the Pelicans for their third win in four games.

The Suns trailed 100-97 after Zion Williamson sank a free throw with 4:58 remaining, but they dominated the closing minutes, outscoring New Orleans 18-8 to seal the victory.

 

  • LA Clippers (9-21) def. Portland Trail Blazers (12-19), 119-103: James Harden, Brook Lopez, and Kawhi Leonard combined for 93 points as the Clippers rallied past the Trail Blazers, posting their first three-game winning streak of the season.
