In a social media post, the Philippine Sports Commission shared that refurbishment efforts were simultaneously ongoing at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.
The project is being carried out in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways, with work focused on upgrading the tennis courts and related support facilities.
“All of these efforts follow the strategic goals of advancing athletes’ welfare and boosting sports tourism by providing the highest quality of athlete and spectator experience for the event,” the PSC said.
PSC Chairman Pato Gregorio likewise underscored the importance of the collaboration with DPWH in delivering the upgrades on time.
“The RMSC transformation kicks off with the perfect partner. Thank you to DPWH led by Sec. Vince Dizon, for the all-out support for sports tourism,” Gregorio said.
The Philippine Women’s Open will be a hard court tournament and will run alongside the Australian Open, which takes place from January 18 to February 1, 2026.
