Jake Figueroa is taking the next step in his basketball journey as he heads to South Korea to join Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus of the Korean Basketball League.

The KBL side announced the signing on Friday, formalizing the acquisition of the National University standout following an impressive UAAP Season 88 campaign.

Figueroa is expected to link up with Ulsan later this month, filling the roster spot left by fellow Filipino guard Migs Oczon, who underwent shoulder surgery.

The move marks a new chapter for the former UAAP Juniors MVP, who is coming off one of the strongest seasons of his collegiate career. Figueroa averaged 13.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.0 block, production that has him in line for selection to the UAAP Season 88 Mythical Team.

He played a central role in National University’s run to the Final Four, serving as the Bulldogs’ primary catalyst during the elimination round, where they finished atop the standings with an 11–3 record.

NU’s season ended in the semifinals following a loss to De La Salle, but Figueroa’s consistent two-way play throughout the year solidified his reputation as one of the league’s most complete guards.
