The Charlotte Hornets showed their resiliency and stopping the Toronto Raptor's winning streak with an OT finish at home.
It was the Charlotte Hornets that managed to cool down the surging Toronto Raptors, scoring a tough 118-111 overtime win Sunday (PH time) at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.
The Hornets, now 6-14 for the NBA season, needed to come back from 17 points down to force overtime, with Kon Knueppel’s three with 9.9 seconds left in regulation being the tying basket.
Charlotte’s first lead of the game was in OT off of a Miles Bridges three, and the Hornets rode that momentum for a furious finish and the win.
Bridges led the Hornets with 35 points, while Knueppel added 20 in what has been a standout rookie campaign so far.
Toronto got 30 points and 12 rebounds from Scottie Barnes, but dropped to 14-6 with the loss, ending a nine-game winning streak.
