Eldrew Yulo dazzled in the last event of the 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships as he earned himself a second bronze medal.
Injury didn’t become a problem for Eldrew Yulo to end the 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships, adding to his medal haul with a bronze in the horizontal bar at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport, Pasay on Monday.
Yulo, who finished fourth in his other final on Monday in the vault, also already won a bronze medal in the floor exercise on Sunday.
The 17-year-old scored 14.000 with a stellar routine capped by a landing that netted him a stick bonus of .100.
Yulo had a less-difficult routine than silver medalist Danila Leykin at only 5.100, while the American performed a routine where he scored 5.600 in difficulty.
Yulo hung on to the podium after Japan’s Eijun Yasui stepped on his landing, which kept him from getting his own stick bonus.
Meanwhile, Colombia’s Camilo Vera stole the show as the final gymnast, winning the gold medal by a score of 14.533 with a routine that wowed the crowd.
He scored higher in execution than Leykin with 8.833 compared to the American's 8.533. They both performed routines with 5.600 difficulty.
All three podium finishers had stick bonuses of .100.
