The Denver Nuggets survived a tense finish to defeat the Houston Rockets, 112–109, on Saturday (PH time) at the Toyota Center, improving to 12–3 overall and 2–1 in NBA Cup play.

Denver led by as many as 13 points, but Houston surged ahead in the fourth quarter, forcing the Nuggets to mount a late rally to reclaim control.

Nikola Jokic powered the win with a dominant 34 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists, narrowly missing another triple-double.

 

 

Jamal Murray backed him up with 26 points and 10 assists, giving Denver’s stars just enough firepower to close out the tight contest.

Houston was led by Reed Sheppard, who scored 27 points in the loss. The Rockets slipped to 10–4 overall and 1–2 in NBA Cup action.
