The Filipina5’s first-ever appearance on the global futsal stage did not go its way.
The Philippines fell to world No. 14 Poland, 0-6, in the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup Philippines 2025 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City Friday, Nov. 21.
Backed by a loud home crowd, the Filipina5 showed grit early.
But Poland’s pace and precision broke through in the sixth minute, with Julia Basta firing the squad’s opening goal.

Natalia Matuszewska doubled the lead before halftime with an 18th-minute strike that put the visitors firmly in control.
The Polish attack continued after the break as Julia Szostak fired from mid-range in the 23rd minute, followed by Basta completing her brace just a minute later to make it 4–0.

The hosts then endured more misfortune when Lanie Ortillo inadvertently deflected the ball into her own net in the 27th minute.
Poland sealed the match in the 30th minute after Klaudia Dymin´ska converted from a well-executed set piece, capping the commanding result.
The Philippines will try to bounce back against Morocco, while Poland tangles with world No. 6 Argentina next.
Both games are set Monday, Nov. 24, at the same venue.
