The Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors, and Phoenix Suns continued their early-season turnarounds after sluggish starts, headlining Friday’s trio of NBA regular-season games.

JALEN JOHNSON GOES OFF; RAPTORS, SUNS KEEP HUMMING

  • Atlanta Hawks (8-5) def. Utah Jazz (4-8), 132-122: The hot-shooting Hawks drained 34 three-pointers to overcome Lauri Markkanen’s 40-point masterclass, extending their winning streak to four games.

Jalen Johnson finished with career-highs in points (31), rebounds (18), assists (14), and steals (7) in perhaps the finest performance of his career.

  • Toronto Raptors (7-5) def. Cleveland Cavaliers (8-5), 126-113: Following a rocky start, Scottie Barnes and the Raptors have now won six of their last seven games, the latest with another road victory over the Cavaliers.
