Stephen Curry served up a 46-point masterclass in San Antonio, carrying the Golden State Warriors on his back while outdueling Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs.
Bon Appétit says one “Chef” Stephen Curry.
Curry served up a offensive masterclass, exploding for 46 points—including 22 in a blistering third quarter—to power a gutsy 125-120 Golden State Warriors comeback against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday, November 13 (PH time).
The former two-time MVP accounted for nearly half of Golden State’s 43-point third-quarter output, helping the team erase a 16-point early deficit to hand the Spurs their first home loss of the season.
Curry’s masterful effort also included five rebounds, five assists, and five three-pointers, marking his 73rd career 40-point game.
Jimmy Butler contributed 28 points while Moses Moody added 19 as Golden State also snapped the Spurs’ three-game winning streak.
The victory improved the Warriors to 7-6 and gave them a split in the first two games of their six-game road trip.
For San Antonio, Wembanyama posted a triple-double outing of 31 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Stephon Castle added 21 markers and 10 dimes.
After a 28-14, the Spurs got outscored 109-92 in the final three quarters to slip to 8-3.
Both teams are set to clash again on Saturday, November 15 (PH time), in an NBA Cup matchup.
