Dwight Ramos and AJ Edu continued their impressive runs as Levanga Hokkaido and the Gunma Crane Thunders maintained their strong form in a jam-packed 13-game Japan B.League midweek slate.
There’s no slowing down Dwight Ramos’ Levanga Hokkaido and AJ Edu’s Gunma Crane Thunders as both squads continue to surge in the Japan B.League.
Ramos delivered a team-high 20 points, steering Hokkaido to a tight 95-93 victory over the Saga Ballooners that stretched their winning streak to five.
Import Jahlik Okafor chipped in 19 points, six rebounds, and five assists as Levanga improved to 12-4, drawing level with defending champions Utsunomiya Brex for second place in the Eastern Conference.
Edu, for his part, contributed seven points, six rebounds and six assists in a 94-70 blowout Crane Thunders blowout of the Ibaraki Robots.
The win marked the Gunma’s sixth straight victory and improved their record to 10-6, placing them fourth in the East.
Other winners included Francis Lopez and the Fighting Eagles Nagoya, who rolled past the Shiga Lakes, 92-69, to improve to 6-10.
On the flip side, Ray Parks Jr. drilled the overtime-sending triple in regulation but the Osaka Evessa couldn’t prevent a tough 93-86 defeat to the Ryukyu Golden Kings.
The 32-year-old lefty tallied 20 points, but Osaka still fell in its fourth defeat in five games, sliding to 6-10 in the Western Conference.
Moreover, Kiefer Ravena’s Yokohama B-Corsairs continue to struggle, falling 75-65 to the Akita Northern Happinets—their sixth loss in seven games—dropping to 5-11 in the East.
