Kelly Oubre scored the go-ahead putback with 8.7 seconds left as the Philadelphia 76ers eked out a thrilling 102-100 home win over East rivals the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, November 12 (PH time).

After rookie Justin Edwards missed a three-pointer, no one was boxing out Oubre, who cleaned up the rebound with a clutch basket.

On the game’s final possession, Andre Drummond stripped the ball and forced it into Derrick White’s hands, leaving just enough time for White to launch a desperation three that fell short, much to the delight of the Philly fans.

Oubre finished with 12 points and seven rebounds, but it was Edwards who stole the spotlight.

The rookie erupted for a career-high 22 points in 27 minutes, hitting eight of nine shots, including all five from beyond the arc.

Entering the game, the 21-year-old had averaged just four points over eight games.

Trailing 84-92, Edwards rattled off a personal 9-0 run, hitting three straight threes to give the Sixers a 93-92 lead with 4:40 left in regulation.

Tyrese Maxey added 22 points and nine assists, while Drummond posted a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, helping Philadelphia improve to 7-4 and secure their second win over Boston in the last two months.

On the other hand, former Finals MVP Jaylen Brown led Boston with 24 points in the loss.

Derrick White contributed 18 points, and Anfernee Simons added 17 off the bench, but the Celtics dropped their third straight game and slipped to 5-7.

Philadelphia now travels to Detroit to face the East-leading Pistons (9-2), while Boston looks to end their skid when they return home to host the Memphis Grizzlies (4-8).
