Don’t look now, but the Chicago Bulls have climbed to the top of the Eastern Conference after pulling off a gutsy 24-point comeback against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Few saw it coming, yet the Chicago Bulls — once overlooked in preseason chatter — have emerged as early pace-setters in the Eastern Conference.
Nikola Vucevic buried the game-winning corner triple with 3.2 seconds left, sealing the Bulls’ improbable 24-point comeback to stun the Philadelphia 76ers, 113–111, and improve their record to 6–1 on Wednesday, November 5 (PH time).
Trailing 110–111, Josh Giddey drove to the basket and delivered a timely pass to a wide-open Vucevic, who drained the Bulls’ first and only lead of the game.
Philadelphia still had a chance to win the game, but Quentin Grimes’ last-gasp attempt bounced off the rim.
The comeback marked the second-largest rally in Bulls franchise history and their biggest since overcoming a 25-point deficit five years ago.
Vucevic ended with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Giddey notched his second consecutive triple-double with 29 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists.
Tyrese Maxey paced the Sixers with 39 points, while Joel Embiid added 20 but managed only two in the second half as Philly fell to 5-2.
Up next, Chicago hits the road to face the Milwaukee Bucks (5–3), while Philadelphia looks to regroup as it wraps up its three-game road stretch against the Toronto Raptors (4–4).
