Nikola Jokic narrowly missed a triple-double but led the Nuggets spoil Russell Westbrook’s return to Denver with a 130–124 win over the Sacramento Kings, maintaining their perfect home record on Tuesday, November 4 (PH Time).
Jokic finished with 34 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists while hitting 14 of 22 shots in another masterful performance for the three-time MVP.
Christian Braun and Aaron Gordon added 21 and 20 points, respectively, as Denver improved to 3–0 at home and 4–2 on the season.
The Nuggets raced to an early 13–4 lead, extended it to as many as 15 points, and never trailed in a game that ended with six of their players scored in double figures.
Westbrook, who played last season for Denver before signing with Sacramento, recorded 26 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists in a losing effort.
Domantas Sabonis posted a double-double of 13 points and 17 rebounds, but the Kings fell to 2–5 and now lost four of their five games on the road.
Denver continues its four-game home stand with a matchup against the Miami Heat (3–3), while Sacramento looks to bounce back against the Golden State Warriors (4–3).
