Alex Eala's steady rise in the WTA rankings finally culminated with a new career-high of world no. 50 to end her 2025 season.
Alex Eala has barged into the WTA Top 50 at the end of her 2025 season, capping a campaign filled with breakthroughs and firsts.
The 20-year-old moved one place to world no. 50 after the end of her season at the Hong Kong Open, marking a new career-high.
In Hong Kong, Eala made the Round of 16 but lost to eventual champion Victoria Mboko in three sets.
Despite the tough way to end her season, it was a steady rise in the WTA rankings for Eala, who was initially world no. 54 last October 6.
Eala thus puts herself in prime position for spots in top WTA tournaments and Grand Slam main draws next year.
But before that, Eala is expected to suit up for Team Philippines at the Southeast Asian Games in Thailand in December.

At the moment, Eala is enjoying a few moments of rest and relaxation in Manila before resuming her training for the SEA Games and the upcoming 2026 season.
