Luka Doncic made a roaring comeback for the Los Angeles Lakers, dropping 44 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists to power his team past the Memphis Grizzlies, 117–112, in an NBA Cup matchup on Saturday (PH time) at the FedEx Forum in Memphis.

Returning from a three-game injury absence, Doncic picked up right where he left off, recording his third 40-point outing in as many games this season.

The win lifted the Lakers to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in Cup play.

Memphis surged ahead in the second quarter behind a 19-0 run, leading by as many as 15 points and still up two entering the fourth quarter.

But Los Angeles stormed back, dominating the final period and building a 12-point cushion before sealing the five-point victory.

Austin Reaves provided strong support with 21 points, four rebounds, and four assists, while Jock Landale and Jaylen Wells led the Grizzlies with 16 points apiece.

The loss dropped Memphis to 3-3 in the standings as the Grizz continue to search for consistency early in the season.
