Alex Eala and partner Chan Hao-ching crashed out of the 2025 Hong Kong Open doubles event after a first-round loss to Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Kamilla Rakhimova.
Alex Eala and doubles partner Chan Hao-ching got the early boot at the 2025 Hong Kong Open, absorbing a 6-3, 1-6, 7-10 heartbreaker to Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Kamilla Rakhimova in their Round of 32 duel on Monday, October 27.
The pair jumped to a 4-1 lead early and claimed the first set in just 37 minutes.
However, Eala and Chan faltered in the second set and trailed 1-5 in the deciding tiebreak. Despite mounting a late comeback, they eventually fell short and crashed out of the tournament.
The Filipina ace is coming off a doubles semifinal loss at the Guangzhou Open with Ukrainian partner Nadiia Kichenok, falling to Janice Tjen and Katarzyna Piter.
Tomorrow, the world no. 51 Eala will kick off her singles campaign against Katie Boulter for a spot in the Round of 16.
