The 2025 Spikers’ Turf Invitational Conference is set to become one of the most competitive editions yet, as international squads Kindai University from Japan and ProVolley Academy from Australia are set to join the fray.
Tournament format
The tournament will feature a single-round robin format among eight local teams, with the top four squads advancing to the semifinals.
From there, the competition will intensify as Kindai University and ProVolley Academy enter the picture in, making it a six-team showdown.
The tournament will culminate in a winner-take-all Final between the top two teams emerging from the semifinal round.
Familiar faces and new contenders
The 10 squads gearing up for the challenge include the PGJC Navy Sealions, Criss Cross King Crunchers, Cignal Super Spikers, VNS Griffins, Savouge Spin Doctors, Alpha Insurance Protectors, UST-Gameville, DNS-Steel FEU, Japan's Kindai University, and Australia's ProVolley Academy.
The entry of the Japanese and Australian squads is seen as another pivotal step in strengthening the level of men’s volleyball in the Philippines.
Kindai University is known for its disciplined system and fast-paced attacks, while ProVolley Academy is recognized for its athleticism and aggressive style.
Coming off Alas Pilipinas Men's historic FIVB Men's World Championship campaign, all eyes will turn towards men's volleyball action in the coming months.
