Filipino reinforcement Jamie Malonzo is eager to find a new home in the Japan B.LEAGUE after exiting the Kyoto Hannaryz.
Jamie Malonzo is determined to keep things going in Japan despite facing a setback with the termination of his contract with the Kyoto Hannaryz after just five games in the 2025-26 B.LEAGUE season.
But the long-time veteran is undeterred and said that it was a mutual decision among both parties.
“After discussions with Kyoto, we’ve mutually agreed to part ways.” Malonzo wrote in his Instagram story.
“The team’s been dealing with injuries and wants to strengthen their front court.”
In his five games, Malonzo played sparingly. The team also garnered a 1-4 slate during Malonzo’s stay with the Hannaryz.

Despite the early exit from his first B.LEAGUE team, Malonzo is eager to continue pushing and finding a new home in Japan.
He also said that he is already in discussions with other potential squads that he hopes will take him in.
“I’m 100% healthy and ready to continue the season,” he said.
“I’m in talks with other teams and excited to continue my journey here in Japan,” he continued.
Malonzo is in his first foray in international professional basketball after spending his first few years in the PBA.
Regardless of how short his stay was, Malonzo expressed his gratitude with the Kyoto organization.
“I’m grateful for my time with Kyoto, and thankful to the organization, teammates, coaches, and amazing fans for all the support.”
