Filipino pro player Jamie Malonzo is parting ways with Japan B.League team Kyoto Hannaryz after just five games.
The Kyoto Hannaryz are mutually parting ways with Filipino import Jamie Malonzo after just five games in the 2025-26 Japan B.League season, the team announced on Friday afternoon.
This makes Malonzo a free agent.
The Filipino import played sparingly for the Hannaryz to start the season.
He played his longest match against the Shiga Lakes on October 12, playing more than 14 minutes of action to finish with two points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal. They lost that match.
In his last game, a loss against the Hiroshima Dragonflies, Malonzo did not tally any stats in 5:41 minutes of action.
“We are pleased to announce that we have mutually agreed to terminate the contract with Jamie Malonzo. Malonzo will be listed on the B.LEAGUE free agent list at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 17th,” the
announcement read in translated English.
The Hannaryz are 1-4 so far this season and are currently riding a four-game losing streak.
Kyoto was also the previous team of ex-PBA pro Matthew Wright.
Malonzo thus finds himself looking for a new team in his professional career, just weeks since beginning his first foray into overseas basketball.
