Jaja Santiago and Denso Airybees opened their 2025–26 SV.League campaign with a straight-sets win, while Alyssa Solomon suited up in Osaka Marvelous' five-set defeat.
Jaja Santiago began her 2025-26 Japan SV.League campaign on a high note, helping the Denso Airybees secure a dominant 25-21, 25-17, 25-22 victory over the Toray Arrows on Saturday, October 11.
Santiago, also known as Sachi Minowa, continued to be a stabilizing force at the net for her new team, providing reliable defense and veteran leadership as Denso immediately showed why it remains one of the league’s top contenders.
Minowa made an immediate impact in her Denso debut, scoring 14 points built on 11 attacks on 61.11 percent efficiency and three blocks, claiming Player of the Match honors.

Meanwhile, Alyssa Solomon officially made her Osaka Marvelous debut in their five-set defeat against Victorina Himeji, 25-17, 26-28, 25-23, 22-25, 11-15.
The former NU standout came into the match during the second and third sets, where she contributed a point in the match.
This marks back-to-back defeats for the defending champions after falling in four sets to Himeji in their opener yesterday, 19-25, 25-21, 21-25, 10-25.
Solomon, who recently joined the Japanese powerhouse, did not suit up in that match.

Up next for Minowa and the Airybees will be a rematch against Toray tomorrow, while Solomon and the Marvelous take on Aranmare Yamagata next week.
