The Golden State Warriors opened their 2025 NBA preseason on a high note, defeating the Los Angeles Lakers 111-103 behind a balanced scoring effort on Monday (PH time).

Moses Moody led Golden State with 19 points, one of four Warriors who scored in double figures.

Veterans Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and the newly-signed Al Horford all saw limited action, each playing fewer than 15 minutes.

The Warriors seized control late in the first half and never looked back, leading by as many as 24 points before holding off a late Lakers push.

For Los Angeles, Gabe Vincent paced the team with 16 points, while LeBron James and Luka Doncic once again sat out.

Austin Reaves, who played in the preseason opener against Phoenix, was also rested.

The win marked a confident start for Golden State’s new-look lineup, while the Lakers dropped to 0-2 in the preseason.
