Two familiar Filipino names will be suiting up in the 2025-26 East Asia Super League, as Arvin Tolentino and Carl Tamayo headline the foreign reinforcements for their respective Korean Basketball League (KBL) squads.

Tolentino, fresh off being named the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup Best Player of the Conference, joins the Seoul SK Knights for their return to the EASL.

The SK Knights last saw action in the 2023-24 edition, where they reached the Finals before falling short.

This year, Seoul is grouped with the Utsunomiya Brex (Japan), Taipei Fubon Braves (Taiwan), and Hong Kong Eastern (Hong Kong) in Group A.

Meanwhile, Tamayo is part of the roster for the Changwon LG Sakers, who booked their place in the EASL after winning the 2025 KBL championship.

It marks Changwon’s first-ever appearance in the continental league, though Tamayo himself has EASL experience from his stint with Japan’s Ryukyu Golden Kings.

The LG Sakers were drawn into Group C alongside Alvark Tokyo (Japan), New Taipei Kings (Taiwan), and Xac Broncos (Mongolia).

With Tolentino and Tamayo in the mix, both Korean sides will look to deepen their runs as they represent the KBL against some of the region’s toughest clubs.
