Italy’s golden run at the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship was capped not only by back-to-back titles, but also by Alessandro Michieletto being named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).
The 23-year-old outside hitter, who anchored the Azzurri’s winning campaign, led a star-studded Dream Team announced after the gold medal match at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday.
Joining Michieletto in the tournament’s elite seven are fellow Italians Simone Giannelli (Best Setter), Yuri Romano (Best Opposite), and Fabio Balaso (Best Libero), underscoring Italy’s dominance in Manila.
Bulgaria’s Cinderella run was also rewarded, with Aleksandar Nikolov (Best Outside Hitter) and Aleks Grozdanov (Best Middle Blocker) earning awards after steering their team to a historic silver finish.
Rounding out the list is Poland’s Jakub Kochanowski, who claimed Best Middle Blocker honors after another strong showing for the world no. 1 squad.
