Czechia swept China to advance to the Round of 16 of the 2025 FIVB Men's World Championship, eliminating world No. 3 Brazil and setting up a knockout clash with Tunisia.
Czechia officially punched its ticket to the Round of 16 of the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship after overpowering China in straight sets, 26-24, 25-19, 25-18, on Thursday night, September 18, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Needing nothing less than a sweep to advance, the Czechs rose to the occasion, eliminating world No. 3 Brazil in the process after the South Americans were stunned by Serbia earlier in the day.
With the result, Serbia and Czechia progressed from Pool A by virtue of superior set ratio over Brazil.
Lefty opposite hitter Patrik Indra starred for Czechia, erupting for 29 points built on 23 attacks, four blocks, and two service aces.
With the win, Czechia booked a Round of 16 clash against Pool A leader Tunisia, which topped the group after a victory over Egypt.
