Serbia pulled out all the stops to carve out a 25-22, 25-20, 25-22 shocker against world no. 2 Brazil to clinch a spot in the Round of 16 of the FIVB Men’s World Championship 2025 on Thursday, Sept. 18, at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The win also enabled the Serbs to seal the top spot in Pool H all while hurting Brazil’s hopes of reaching the knockout stage.

As of writing, Serbia and Brazil are tied at 2-1 in their group, but the former holds the edge with a superior set ratio.

If Czechia beats China in straight sets later, Czechia will be the one joining Serbia in advancing as Brazil will crash out of the tournament.
