Slovenia begins its podium hunt in the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship with a clean sweep of Chile, 25-19, 25-20, 25-16, at the MOA Arena in Pasay City Saturday night, Sept. 13.

Even without star spiker Rok Mozic, the Slovenians put up a solid outing to take down the Chileans, who returned to the global stage after 43 years.

World No. 6 Slovenia looks to improve on its fourth-place finish back in the 2022 edition of the tournament.

Toncek Štern led the attack for Slovenia with 15 points on 11 attacks, two blocks and two service aces.

Nik Mujanovic and Jan Kozamernik added 13 and 10 markers, respectively.

Vicente Parraguirre paced Chile with 11 points, all coming from attacks.

Slovenia faces Bulgaria next even as the Chileans aim for their first win against Germany Monday, Sept. 15, at the same venue.
