Aleksandr and Simeon Nikolov starred as Bulgaria swept No. 8 Germany, 40-38, 25-22, 25-20, in the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City Saturday, Sept.13.
The Bulgarians went off to a rousing start and rode that momentum to power past the Germans for their first win in Pool E.

Aleksandar Nikolov scored 22 points on 19 attacks, two blocks and one service ace. His younger brother Simeon, an 18-year-old setter, tossed in 24 excellent sets to go along with eight markers.

Bulgaria will go for back-to-back wins against world No. 6 Slovenia, while Germany looks to get back on track against Chile.
Both games will be on Monday, Sept. 15, at the same venue.
